Install in three steps

Open the downloaded Popcorn.dmg and drag Popcorn into Applications.

Launch it and grant microphone & screen-recording permissions when asked.

Join your next call — Popcorn appears in the menu bar, ready to record.

If macOS says it “can’t be opened”

Popcorn is still going through Apple notarization, so the first launch needs a one-time approval. Follow these steps to authorize the installation:

    Attempt to install or open the DMG/app as usual. When the “cannot verify” warning appears, click Done or OK to dismiss it.

    Open the Apple menu and select System Settings.
  3. 3
    Scroll down and click on Privacy & Security in the left sidebar.
  4. 4
    Scroll to the Security section on the right.
  5. 5
    Look for the message indicating the app was blocked, and click Open Anyway.
  6. 6
    Enter your administrator password and click Open to finalize.

Private by default

Recordings are stored on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to sync a meeting.
